Welcome
Hollie Saunders, Fine Artist
“Through my work, I expose the viewer to the remarkable, yet often overlooked, textures and contours found in nature. The more one studies these forms and their details, the more beautiful they become."
New Originals
I wanted to capture the quiet details of the bluebonnet that are often overlooked, so I painted this piece as a closer look at its delicate textures, subtle curves, and the way the petals capture the light.

This painting is of a New Zealand lily in bloom, zoomed in to highlight the contrast between the soft white petals and the highly detailed center. I painted it because was drawn to the complexity. The petals feel calm and understated, but the center is busy, textured, and almost meditative to work through. White can be deceptively challenging, and I liked leaning into the subtle shifts of color and shadow rather than making it feel flat. For me, this piece is about slowing down and paying attention to the details that might get overlooked at first glance.

This painting is of a freesia bloom, captured in vibrant reds and set against a striking green background. I painted it to highlight the way a single stem of flowers can hold both softness and strength, with petals layered delicately yet full of bold color and presence. The green background is intentionally bright, creating a sharp contrast that makes the bloom feel alive and radiant, as though it is reaching out beyond the canvas. For me, this piece was about celebrating that contrast and the balance of vibrancy and delicacy that exists in nature and in creativity itself.
